Remarks: View of the Instrument Panel of the first RAAF production CA-27 Avon Sabre: A94-901 while on static display outside the HARS Hangar at Wollongong (YWOL) in May 2012. The Panel is being restored to original configuration. This aircraft was built in Aug 1954 and did Australia's first super-sonic flight. She was nominally 'converted to components' in 1967. After a long stint at Warbirds Mildura she was restored at Bankstown, and moved to HARS Wollongong in 2006.
Remarks: 281 seen here after arriving from Archerfield. Served with 10SQN, was going to be registered VH-NEP, now used as a static display at HARS Wollongong.
Remarks: (Built 1954) about to land on Rwy 26 at the end of a local flight around the Illawarra region. Ex USAF 54-0157, it was delivered new to the 1608th Military Air Transport Wing based at Charleston, South Carolina on October 6th, 1955.
