Remarks: ‘Gooney Bird’ A65-78 outside the 10 Squadron/ RAAF Townsville (Duty Crew) hangar in 1984. This Dakota has the Aircraft Research and Development Unit (ARDU) logo/colours covering the rudder. The C-47B’s livery is in much better condition than the hangar at rear. A65-78 is a long way from home base – RAAF Edinburgh South Australia. (I first flew in this aircraft on 17May1966 - Laverton to Cooma [2hr10min] and return on 22May1966 [2hr15min].)
