Remarks: First time I ever saw this type of plane here at BLM. What I didn't know at the time.. this would be the last picture my camera would ever take before succumbing to its age. See you in another lifetime my little Rebel XT
Remarks: first spotting I have been able to do in 2011 with all the snow storms here recently. First nice day all the snow melted but there is still some left. Not much flying around but did get this nice hawker in the "golden light" hours.
Remarks: Because of the many people that arrived to see the B-17, B-24, and P-51 there was no longer room on the hill(out of picture) so a few of the more "extreme" folks headed straight down along the taxiway and man was it close. The wingtip of the B-17 was over my head.
Remarks: Located at the airport is a hill with parking that is designated for spotting, it overlooks the taxiway and runway 14/32. You are pretty close to the action. Here we see two on-lookers who are awaiting the arrival of the aircraft from the Collings Fundation, so far only the B-17 has arrived.
Remarks: Not much flying around here today because of strong winds. However this small Beechcraft did come in. Large picture for such a small plane- 1600pix
Remarks: Unusual light in this shot created by the snow and thin cloud layers as the sun begins to set on this cold, dark winter day. With all this snow something tells me these aircraft, N44636 & N21968 wont be moving for sometime.
