Remarks: Experimental pusher-prop Ultralight VH-RAR (an Australite Ultrabat) was apparently started with an open throttle at the Mangalore Airshow during Easter 1998. It accelerated into a spectator area, snagging a rope barrier which caused it to ground loop many times. It knocked over the chairs my sister and I had been sitting on, and knocked over a girl before stopping against another aircraft. If it had a tractor prop, it could have killed several people it 'attacked'. We were lucky that day. The incident featured on the front page of the Melbourne Sun the next day. This aircraft was First Registered on 01April1998! How appropriate!
