Remarks: Mirages A3-73 and A3-65 share the 75 Squadron apron with a 75KVA Ground Power Unit at RAAF Base Darwin in 1984. The closer aircraft: A3-73 has a 75 Squadron tail flash – while A3-65 has a 2OCU tail flash. (A3-73 was built by GAF in Feb 1967.) The apron is actually made of inter-locking aluminium alloy panels, in lieu of the usual bitumen or concrete. (Note iconic water tower at rear.) Low res photo.
