Remarks: An hour after this photo was taken, pilot Harry Tope was killed when "Death Rattler" spun into a golf course near the Ottawa Airport. Parts were salvaged and the aircraft is again flying as N51PE. Such are the adventures of the airshow industry. Rest in peace Harry, the show will go on..
Remarks: On final for 24 left back when Iberia came to Toronto. The yellow umbrella in the corner belonged to a hot dog vendor who came out to the threshold of 24 left before the GTAA kicked him, and the rest of us out as a "safety hazard"
Remarks: Actor Cliff Robertson owner this beauty from 1963 to 1988. Jerry Billings was the display pilot for many of those years, putting on some very memorable displays...and don't get me started on the sound. Nothing sounds like a Merlin. It is now on display in a museum in Seattle, needing some work before again being airworthy.
