Remarks: BA triple departs away from 27L with some quite threatening looking clouds in the background. The RR Trent's are beginning to fog with condensation while the sunlight hits the fuselage, lighting up it's livery. (5D2/70-200F2.8LIS)
Remarks: Now that is what you call a dark and moody sky! I bet the climb out wasn't quite a smooth one! Lovely to see the contrast of the chromed fuselage of the 777 from AA against the thunderous dark clouds forming behind it as it takes of from 27L at LHR. (5D2/70-200F2.8LIS)
Remarks: BA triple seven departs away from 27L in the later evening sunshine. Not photographed this aircraft since way back in 2005 when it used to wear the 'Chelsea Rose' tail scheme. (5D2/70-200F2.8LIS)
Remarks: Well... when the clouds are this black some people stay at home, i dodged rain storms and managed to get a few shots that came out like this! Got to say it was a spectacular set of conditions to shoot in. Here is a UA 772 departing 27L into what looks like a hellish sky yet with lovely sunlight falling onto it's body making it stand out brilliantly against the dark background! The conditions that day also meant that fogging in the engines was happening regularly! (5D2/70-200F2.8LIS)
Remarks: For me this is one of my favourite images of the day. Sometimes just everything in a photo works out exactly how you want it to. The focus was nailed, the angle was good, the light falling was great and the background was nice and dark which all adds up to this shot here. I love the aspect of nature it captures as well as the feel of power as the 777 departs 27L! (5D2/70-200F2.8LIS)
Remarks: United 772 climbs away from 27L wearing the old 'United Airlines' blue scheme. This bird will soon lose this livery and be repainted into the post merger 'United' livery. (5D2/70-200F2.8LIS)
