Remarks: Here we have a shot of the upper class section on a Virgin Atlantic 747-400. This is the part that is at the front of the upper deck on the 747. The upper class suite has 10 beds on the upper deck! Today i was sharing this aircraft with some celebs such as Green Day, Jameroquai and Ill Divo amongst others. Remarks: As the day got on the sun got lower. Mid afternoon this VS744 arrived from LHR. Luckily for us it arrived on the south side meaning we could get a shot of it as it taxied to the north side. Here is Cosmic Girl taxiing past the control tower. (10D/120-300F2.8EX)
Remarks: Swiss A343 arrives after a log flight across the atlantic ocean from Zurich in Switzerland. Here she is after landing on the south side taxiing to her gate, i was very lucky to capture her in this beautiful late evening light that was so low in the sky! It really does show the lovely lines of an A343! Encounter restaurant in the background, this was one of my last shots of a great weekend at LAX! (10D/120-300F2.8EX)
Remarks: Minutes before touchdown we were flying over the town of San Jose. I was about to touch down here after travelling 6000 miles to pick up my new camera and lens! You can see downtown below the wing and a nice little condensation trail forming as we approach. Lovely weather today, flying up here did mean i missed the rare opps at KLAX where they land coming over the sea! Oh well, a 1dmkii makes up for that! (10D/17-40F4L)
Remarks: This is a sight no longer seen now that Varig are no more. The beautiful Varig Scud three holer departs LAX to make its way back down to South America! Lufty and Aeroflot birds can be seen getting ready for departure just beneath the mighty MD11 as she leaves! The jet blast from the third engine is just tremendous! (10D/120-300F2.8EX)
Remarks: Polar Cargo lifting off the runway here on the south side VERY early today. My guess is she is flying out empty or with a very light load. Lovely to see this plane, not seen this cargo airline before! The top of the encounter is visible at the bottom.(10D/120-300F2.8EX)

Remarks: EVA Air 744 thunders away from 25R at LAX with the encounter restaurant and the control tower in the background! This is such an awesome sight to watch, i honestly love watching 747's from imperial hill! I also love the way that the EVA colors stand out against everything else! (10D/120-300F2.8EX)
Remarks: Delta 764 departs LAX to make its trip back to ATL. Lovely weather in California today, the sky was just a lovely deep blue! I love the raked winglets on these beasts, just like the 773ER! (10D/120-300F2.8EX)
Remarks: Here is one of my final shots of the day! Continental 764 with the beautiful raked winglets powers away from 25R at LAX with the spider building which houses the encounter restaurant in the background! Aeromexico and Delta planes are in the background at the gates! The air was very clear today and there was not much haze at all, a beautiful way to end my day in LA! (10D/120-300F2.8EX)
Remarks: As one Asian arrives, another Asian departs.... China Airlines 744 thunders away from the tarmac at KLAX while in the background you can see Singapore Airlines A345 just about to touch down. I was so pleased to have got both planes in the shot, the timing was very lucky on this one! Fogging is present in the China's engines, now i just wish i had got the hollywood sign too.....
