The only time a 747F landed at FBU as far as I know.... New reg N539MC late 1998. To Atlas Air June 4th 2000, and Cargo Airlines as 4X-ICM since January 19th 2001.
Remarks: Built 1974 and operated by Aeroflot for about 20 years (including a few years as RA-65815). This corresponds great to the SU 635/636 schedule operated SVO-LED-FBU-LED-SVO each friday with Tu-134As during the same period.
Remarks: "Heimfari" seen on the taxiway for a rwy 24 departure back to Reykjavik. Originally delivered April 1st 1968 to American Flyers Airline, to TF-FIA May 18th 1971 and TF-FLG October 1st 1979. This was the last summer it flew for FI, with 126 seats. It left for freighter and RR conversion October 1989, and has flown as N940UP since October 1990!
Remarks: "Göttingen", was delivered new May 14th 1981 as the 2nd generation 737 for LH replacing the original B737-130s in the fleet. LH used the 732s extensively on the schedules from FRA and HAM to Fornebu through the eighties. Seen taxing out for a rwy 24 departure this sunny day. Sold to Merpati as PK-MBC December 27th 1994.
Remarks: cn 23118, One of the earliest 757s, built 1984 as D-AMUR. To LTE as EC-EFX in 1987. New reg EC-HQV in October 2000. To Volar Airlines in July 2003. Wfu 2004, and flown to Opa Locka (OPF/KOPF), sadly scrapped later that year. The summer in 1989 were the only season charterflights to Oslo were operated to Fornebu aiport between 1972 and 1998. LTE came with 757s from Malaga each Friday. Seen taxing for a rwy 24 departure.
Remarks: cn 21965 To this day, my largest surprise: To get an unexpected ´747 on final approach to rwy 24 at FBU! So much more than the charter´89 season had promised! (when Gardermoen was closed).
