Remarks: Being dismantled in the same spot it stopped after a crash landing. The crew shut down one engine, but pulled the wrong power lever back leaving only two engines operating at the correct power. The flight crew selected 90% flaps, retracting them on a two mile final at a low speed and altitude. The aicraft sunk rapidly and landed in a field a mile short of the runway. All onboard survived, although the flight crew seated in the nose section substained spinal cord injuries.
Remarks: A shot I wish I never had the oppurtunity to take. Please keep the crew of this C5 in your thoughts. From what I've heard every person seated in the nose section (which you can see is perpendicular to the rest of the aircraft) has a broken back. I appologize for the lower than normal quality, this shot was taken from a mile away on a warm day (this is the closest you can get).
