Remarks: A very comfortable "Head Office" of Lockheed L1011 Tristar with huge windows and plenty of space. Currently HS-AXA, together with its colleagues HS-AXE and HS-AXF, are no longer in service and are stored at Don Muang Airport. Salute to these 3-holers and their pilots.
Remarks: I will never get tired of seeing a beautiful classic Tristar especially when there are so few of them flying these days! Pictured here is one of 3 Tristars operated by Thai Sky Airlines and it would be interesting to know that she's a grand 32 years old!
Remarks: Almost every time I go to Bangkok now, the entire fleet of Thai Sky's Tristars (3 of them) are just sitting there idle. They do still maintain a very very limited schedule, but I do not think this airline has a bright future. AXA is already sitting there with one gear door open, looking sad. I hope I see them at the new airport at the end of the month, as that would signal that maybe Thai Sky are not dead yet.
Remarks: My first submission of a 2006 photo, and of course it has to be a Tristar, which at this angle shows off the profile of this classic airliner beautifully. Long live the Tristar!!!
