Remarks: Between all the scrap metal in Mojave, Scaled Composites makes some weird looking futuristic crafts. This is Proteus, a high altitude platform which can carry different types of payloads, mostly used for telecommunications and reconnaissance. Proteus can remain airborne for 14 hours and can be piloted or operated remotely.
Remarks: White Knight at Space Ship One (N328KF) performed a fly-by at Airventure 2005. This was the last stop for Space Ship Once before its final resting place at the Smithsonian.
Remarks: After takeoff, they did a couple of low passes before heading off to Washington where SpaceShip One (seen here under White Knight, N328KF) is now on permanent display in the National Air & Space Museum.
Remarks: This is to be the first and only public showing of White Knight and SpaceShip One before it is retired to the Air & Space Museum. Doing a flyby before landing.
