Remarks: Dick Nell and his Stampe SV-4B VH-BVU, awaiting a flying slot after the rain cleared at Canberra Airport in March 1984. The Stampe was often mistaken for a DH-82 Tiger Moth (but the tail/ rudder shape is different). This aircraft was first Registered in Australia in 1981. Dick learned to fly in 1955, and was still doing flying displays in this distinctively painted aircraft in 2007. Dick, who worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Goulburn NSW, passed away on 16Jul2012, aged 82. (Texan code WB-663 and 'DC3 Queensland' DC-3 VH-PWN are visible at rear.) Low res photo.
