Remarks: On display at Aerospace Museum of California in Sacramento, CA - (RCAF s/n 22114 was delivered to the RCAF Air Transport Command on March 18, 1953 - It's currently painted in USAF markings)
Remarks: Sitting in the desert, part of an aircraft collection being put together at Buckeye.
This aircraft featured in the 2004 film 'Flight of the Phoenix' hence the psuedo registration H-0810H seen under the wing.
Remarks: It is not hard to imagine why this strange aircraft is called the Flying Boxcar once you see one in real life. This one rests peacefully at Everts. On the roof you can see the JET PAK modification. A Westinghouse J34-WE-36 jet engine for improvement of short-start capability. The original military markings still shine through.
