The era of four-engine machines at Lufthansa is coming to an end. The three Boeing 747-400 registration numbers D-ABVR (23) D-ABVT (23) and D-ABVU (21) will never fly to Lufthansa again. These three machines were grounded in March and April 2020, and flew to Lourdes / Tarbes in June 2020. The only four-engine machines whose fate is yet unknown are the Boeing 747 version 800.
