Close-cropped front Port-side view of Vintage Heli-Muster Bell UH-1H VH-HUE Cn 65-09763 on 21Oct2017. Photo taken outside Hangar 46 at the former RAAF Base Fairbairn (YSCB), during the RAAF 5 Squadron 100th Anniversary Reunion. This helo is a former US Army UH-1H, rather than a Civil Bell 205. The aircraft was painted in a neat red/white and blue civil livery, and was marked with Code ‘Helitak 271’. This Huey, named Hannah, crashed near Cabramurra in the Snowy Mountains in NSW on 17Apr2018. The Pilot, Phil O’Driscoll, was rescued and Medevac-ed by a Toll AW139 helicopter to Canberra Hospital with serious/stable injuries. The Huey caught fire after the rescue, and is likely to be a Write-Off.
