Close-cropped front Stbd view of RAAF F-4E Phantom A69-7213 Cn 3871 on static display, with weapons (Mk82 500lb dumb bombs), at Laverton YMLV on 18Apr1971. (Pentax S1a with standard 50mm lens.) The occasion was the RAAF 50th Anniversary Air Display, which also featured visiting foreign aircraft. This aircraft was Delivered to the RAAF in Sept 1970, and was returned to the USAF in October 1972. The use of Phantoms was a 'stop-gap' measure, while delivery of the RAAF's F-111Cs was delayed due to structural problems.
