This aircraft was Built in 1937, and was First registered in Australia on 16Sep1987, when the aircraft was 50 years old. This aircraft was previously Registered in USA as N37P, to the Pure Oil Co. Special thanks to Doug Hamilton for giving me permission to take this Cockpit photo of his Vintage Lockheed 12A. (This aircraft appeared in the 2014 movie ‘Unbroken’, wearing Registration VH-HID.) Footnote: I have been Contacted by Allen Crockett, whose father flew ‘sister-ship’ Lockheed 12A N36P Cn 1254 for the Pure Oil Company from Tulsa, Oklahoma, starting in 1956. It’s a Small World!
