New on database. This is the oldest plane in Costa Rica. Built in 1930, this aircraft was flown by the first Costa Rican Airman, Roman Macaya Lehmann who arrived to Costa Rica on October 5th 1933. His son wanted to re-enact the feat his father achieved more that 80 years ago so he purchased this airplane from a museum in the US which is identical to the one his father flew. It is now in MRPV and was named "El Espiritu Tico". Unfortunately, due to health problems, he passed away while completing the project which was run by his family.
