Notes:

One of three B-52s to detach to Fairford for an exercise with NATO forces in Europe is seen here over-flying RAF Valley during the station Families’ Day. This aircraft entered service in 1960 and may well have been one of those that terrorized me as a toddler trying to sleep in our cottage at the end of the Brize Norton runway during the days of round-the-clock nuclear deterrence some 56 years ago.
