Photo taken at the Australian National Aviation Museum (ANAM), during the ‘Open Cockpit Day’ on 08Nov2014. History: This aircraft was Built in 1948, and was added to the Australian Register on 15Mar1974. On 18Jun1974 VH-CLD departed Biggin Hill UK on a ferry flight to Australia. Based at Melbourne-Moorabbin, operating to Bass Strait islands and Tasmania. Grounded at Moorabbin when severe corrosion found in rear fuselage structure in 1977. Struck-off Register on 10May1977. Retired at Moorabbin. Forward fuselage with restored cockpit sold back to ANAM (the renamed Moorabbin Air Museum) in 2005. (Ref: Geoff Goodall website.)
