Close-cropped front Port side view of Doug Hamilton’s Curtiss P-40N-5-CU SN 42-104986, Registered as VH-PFO, during a short engine ‘warm-up’ at Temora YTEM on 21May2016. (Doug then flew the aircraft in formation with Matt Hall in TAM Spitfire Mk.VIII VH-HET.) The Olive-Drab fuselage blends well with the gum tree (Eucalyptus) background, but the Blue propeller spinner and white wing leading edges and tail stand out. This appearance at Temora Aviation Museum (TAM) was the first public display of the recently restored Vintage Kittyhawk/ Warhawk, which flew combat missions in New Guinea during WWII. The aircraft was restored by Precision Aerospace/ Pacific Airmotive, at Wangaratta Airport YWGT. The aircraft was built in 1943, and was First Registered in Australia on 14Oct2015.
