View of the Flight Deck of CAF owned Douglas DC-3 N47HL Cn 27203 at Oshkosh (KOSH) on 24Jul2015. (The aircraft has polished bare metal finish, with ‘Bluebonnet Belle’ Nose Art on both sides of the nose.) This photo was taken during EAA Air Venture 2015. The aircraft was Built in December 1944 as Serial 43-49942. Footnote: 'On 21Jul2018 the Commemorative Air Force’s World War II aircraft, C-47 Bluebonnet Belle N47HL, had an accident at takeoff and caught fire. The accident occurred at Burnet Municipal Airport in Burnet, Texas where it is assigned to the Highland Lakes Squadron. There were 13 people on board the aircraft when the accident occurred. All 13 were able to exit the aircraft without any fatalities. The fire was extensive, and the aircraft is a total loss.' (Ref: CAF website.)
