Notes:

216 Sqn hosted an Enthusiasts’ Day at RAF Brize Norton to mark the retirement of three aircraft types from service: the Tristar, the VC10 and the C-130K Hercules. This example of the latter type on display was a C.3, the stretched version, of 24 Sqn. The RAF had the world’s largest fleet of the analogue C-130K, introducing them to service at Fairford in the spring of 1967; this aircraft was 48 years old on the date of its retirement.
