There is incredible irony in these photos. 44 years later, and at Malton Airport (now Pearson), an Avro Arrow is again in pieces. This time, however, it is not from the cutters torch. . There is no anger from a Diefenbaker decision, nor sorrow at the wanton destruction of an entire industry, and more importantly, the people who built it. This time, this magnificent replica is only going into storage. Someday down the road, it will again be on display for all to see and be awed by. It is not “Black Wednesday”; it may be a while before we see it again, but the opportunity will one day arise. It is not to be missed.
