Approaching RWY26 at Compton Abbas offers superb views over the surrounding countryside. The airfield is located on the top of a hill and thus suffers from local wind variation along with an odd perspective on approach as the ground rises quite quickly towards you. It can be a very busy strip at times and is well worth a visit for anyone in the Dorset area.
