AS458 (SEA-LAX)... a real antidote for my cancelled flight was this stunning topographical overview seen as we banked out of Sea-Tac through 180 degrees and which shows the close proximity of 3 major aviation airfields in the Seattle area. Sea-Tac (KSEA) itself can be seen just inland from Puget Sound in the top right hand corner while Boeing's flight test centre at Boeing Field (KBFI) is laid out just below on the edge of the frame. We've just passed north of Mercer Island on Lake Washington across which IS90 can be seen running and upon who's southern shoreline stands Boeing's 737 assembly plant at Renton (KRNT). KRNT can be seen just above the wingtip while the imposing sight of Mt.Rainier ahead pinpoints our general heading through Washington State as we straighten up for our flight down to LAX (see next in series ...
