Hapag-Lloyd's classic livery on a classic B737. Studies into under wing engines showed that the B737-100 could carry 6 more passengers over the original rear mounted configuration and also solved some very undesirable design problems. This seminal design feature got locked in to the programme late on in 1964 for which the designer received the modest sum of $50 from Boeing for the patent.
