Rare 1968 view of new Ansett-ANA DC-9-31 VH-CZE Cn 47202, ( Del: 02Nov1968) taking off from Melbourne's Essendon Airport. The flaps and slats are out, and the wheels are retracting. The engines are producing a large noise footprint and plenty of smoke. My first flight in an Ansett-ANA DC-9 was in VH-CZC from Mascot Sydney YSSY to Essendon YMEN on 19Feb1970. Registration VH-CZE was later used on an Ansett Boeing 737-377. Apologies for low image quality of this 1968 photo.
