Jeff, the stabiliser isn't damaged, they are facing us due to the direction of the wind. Great capture Ian and well done on top of last week!
Alan, Jeff was referring to the horizontal stabilizer, not the vertical (or the rudder) - which is turned towards the camera. The leading edge of the right horizontal stabilizer is damaged as seen within the photo. Great shot!
Note the damage to the horizontal stabiliser - I assume from the landing gear flying up as it broke off.
