Hi Rick, that’s not what happened it actually caught fire at the gate causing an evacuation which lasted about a minute. TheFlightChannel made a brilliant video on it which should help you understand the crash.
That is something you don't see everyday. Trust one of our photographers to be there when it happened hey. Sounds like it hit the runway hard and skidded, causing damage to an engine which after passengers started getting off the plane, caught fire. It burnt very quickly didnt it.
