Only years ago during WWII you might see a military plane flying into here. This was a rare site, and my special Thanks to the pilot or crew member for letting me get a clear shot of this bad boy sitting right in front of the old control tower area and the famous "Sky Galley" restaurant. C-2A Greyhound from the VAW-120 (Greyhawks) Reserve Squadron in Norfolk, Va. Lunken Airport was the first commercial airport in this area and also a military training facility during WW II long before CVG was thought about. CVG was created for more space and better weather conditions due to fog near the Ohio river.
