El Condor

-WBO offered me my first experience of LAPA back in 1994, on a PDP-AEP flight, and I remember being impressed by their shoddiness. 4 years later, they impressed me with their excellence and their modernity, and now I´m impressed by how quickly LAPA disappeared and the number of steps backwards Argentine commercial aviation has taken. And this picture sums it up. The 737-200, noisy and old though it may be, just doesn´t die off in Argentina! 1970-build -WBO is one of the few that have, being scrapped at Ezeiza in 1999, but more than 40 of her cousins continue to fly on in 2004, while the 737-NG and A320 family battle out the lucrative markets of neighbouring Brazil, Chile and even Peru!
