(c/n48792/636 Del 5/99) executing a not so perfect crosswind landing on Rwy 25 operating as FX5771. This MD-11 literally fell the last 10-20 feet and slammed down onto the left hand main gear..... wish I'd had a video camera going too! Action to the maxx! YEGABENG!

Must have been interesting to see. A high sink rate followed by a heavy impact with the gear on one side is what caused the Fedex MD11F to crash in the US years ago, and what also caused the Mandarin airlines MD11 to crash in Hong Kong a few years ago! Glad this one landed safely at least!
