El Condor

The 39th and hopefully last B737-200 for Aerolineas Argentinas, delivered on September 9, 2003, over 33 years after the first such aircraft entered service with the Argentine flag carrier. -ZZI was the last of a batch of 17 ex-British Airways -236s leased through Pegasus that began to join the fleet in 1998. The B737-200 is scheduled to be gradually replaced between 2004 and 2009 by 32-45 second-hand B737-300s and B737-500s. Few countries have enjoyed such a long and distinguished history with the B737-200 as Argentina, where it is locally nicknamed "chanchita" (little sow) for obvious reasons. Who said pigs can't fly?
