El Condor

-VGV was one of only 2 CN-235s to be operated commercially outside of Spain. Inter Austral operated them from 1993 until 1999, mainly from Buenos Aires to Cordoba. The other CN-235 (LV-VHM) was involved in a horrific incident not far from Cordoba on August 9, 1995, in which the rear door blew open in mid flight. The stewardess, apparently pregnant at the time, was sucked out near the town of Mina Clavero. The aircraft landed safely, but an investigation revealed the door was known to be faulty and blamed Austral's maintenance for taking insufficient measures in preventing 'an accident waiting to happen'.
