At long last! Aerolineas is flying into the 21st century, or at least the late 20th! Lima Juliet (ex-C-FBCA) is the 1st of up to 4 747-400s to be delivered this year, and will augment the 5 remaining 747-200s which have been flying with Aerolineas nearly 25 years. Those will most likely be phased-out upon the arrival of the A340-600s as of November 2006. The 747-400s will allow AR to start flying to destinations like Peking and Tokyo at the end of May (a decision postponed by a year due to the SARS outbreak), as well as ease the strain on the A340-200s flying around the clock to New York, Rome, Auckland and Sydney. Great to see another Argentine dream finally materialize.
