A former Northwest Airlink bird arriving on runway 26L from SNA. At the time, Compass had a focus city in LAS where Delta began high-frequency E175 service from LAX and SLC along with several daily flights each to SNA, SAN, and SJC. When Delta Connection started to wind down Compass operations, the routes disappeared months before the airline itself ended operations. Compass crews were always very cool when I hung out with them, and the airline itself was first founded for post-9\11 Northwest Airlines furloughed pilots as a way to keep them flying. The "Compass" name comes from the Compass in the Northwest logo. The Compass in the Northwest logo had an arrow pointing into the northwest, and by turning the Delta Widget at an angle, this arrow exists to this day in the current Delta livery. The aircraft, which included newer E175s flying for American Eagle, mostly went to SkyWest Airlines, as did ship 613 here.
