The helo, named ‘Angel of Mercy’, was the first full-time dedicated Ambulance Helicopter in Australia, starting ops in 1970. The Bell 206A Jet Ranger was later upgraded to Bell 206B Specification (with high skid-gear), and was operated for Peninsula Ambulance Service / Ambulance Service of Victoria.
