- Vigna di Valle - LIRB, Italy
Preserved at Italian Air Force museum of Vigna di Valle. Better known in Italy as “Cicogna”, it was a liaison and observation aircraft designed to land and take off in confined spaces thanks to an aerodynamic formula designed to allow flying at low speeds. Thanks to a complex system of flaps (surfaces that are used to increase lift at low speeds) this light German aircraft could take off in just over 50 meters and land in less than 30. The minimum flight speed (stall speed) was of 51 km / h and could carry two passengers. The wings were foldable backwards to allow transport on railway wagons. In Italy, 24 units were used. The aircraft on display is the one used by the Gold Medal for Military Valor Furio Lauri for the transport of personnel beyond enemy lines in the period 1943-1945.
